Hey Backyard Poultry Buffs,
It's time to build our float for the Johns Creek Founders Day Parade! The float will be simple, but here is the idea. The trailer is 16 feet long. There will be a nice chicken coop placed on the back end of the trailer. Hay will be spread across the bottom of the trailer, and hay bales will be placed around the front and sides for seats. A small white picket fence will be built to go around the sides of the trailer. It will be a chicken coop backyard on wheels! I will not know how many can ride on the float until we get the chicken coop on it and the hay bales placed. I'm also still checking to see if we can have riders in the back of the pick-up truck that's pulling the trailer. Many members can walk in front and along the side of the float. We will also need two or three children to carry the banner! The parade is only 1.3 miles long if you were planning on walking. We can't throw candy from the float, but walkers can hand candy to the crowd. I'm also having some basic brochures printed that will tell about our group and list the benefits and myths of keeping backyard poultry that we can hand out as well! Yes, you can bring your chickens. Jen plans on pulling a few of ours in a wagon! Please go ahead and RSVP for the parade if you plan on attending. Please RSVP for the float building Meetup as well! The more we have the less time it will take!
Both Meetup events should be really fun!
Thank you for your participation!
